So today I'm 34 weeks. I said in the beginning that this pregnancy has been flying by so fast. Not anymore. Since I haven't been working, and sort of been on mild bed rest, it has been dragging. There is only so much TV I can watch, and I can only sit at the computer for short periods of time because then I start getting crampy.
Good thing is, I don't have that much longer to go. I'm getting induced mid-37th week. It's just safer. Dr. G says I have mild preeclampcia, Dr. C says I dont, but Im borderline so just to be safe they're monitoring me more. I guess 37 weeks is safe for the baby to come out, she'll be just about full term. I discussed with Joel that we should induce later on that week, that way I'll be closer to 38 weeks, which is actually full term. The hard thing is, that's that week before Thanksgiving, and the hardest week for Joel to get off work. So we're thinking of doing it on Wednesday then he'll be off Thursday and Friday, then work on Saturday.
I can't believe my baby will be here in 3 weeks. I'm very excited to meet her, and very VERY excited to not be pregnant anymore. The pregnancy has been close to perfect, but Im so uncomfortable these days. And I'm really tired of having to pee every 2 seconds.
side note: The baby has hiccups right now, it use to be cute, now just kinda of like a tick, I just want it to stop!
That's all I can write for now, I need to go stretch out LOL she needs some room in there!

30w1d
WOW, so much for keeping up with a blog. I've seen the Blogger bookmark on my toolbar everyday, and I've meant to write something. I guess there goes the weekly update on the pregnancy! So I'll just catch everything up.
Its 5:54am. I've been awake since about 2:30. I did some laundry and took a shower. I don't understand. I'm so tired, but I can't sleep. Of course Joel is in there sleeping like a bear in hibernation. Maybe it's because I've had so much sleep in the past few days. I'm really not going to be happy about this lack of sleep for the rest of the day though. I have a lot of work to do. Yesterday Grandma came over to help me clean the house in preparation for 1) Elika's arrival and 2) The baby shower this coming Sunday. AHH, why have I let all these chores go for so long?? It's actually not too bad, just some boxes to unpack (after living here for what, 5 months now? good grief). We got a ton done yesterday, so today will be more like actual house work, cleaning the floors and bathrooms and stuff. I get worn out so easily though so it's a few days project.
So here's a look on this pregnancy to date. Weeks 1-29 have been perfect. No problems, no worries, just a healthy sounding/looking baby that I cant wait to meet. My blood pressure has been a tad high, more like high normal, but it's been that way this whole time, so nothing to really worry about there. My doctor wants me to speak with a specialist/high risk doctor for advice on my blood pressure to see if it needs more attention. It's precautionary. In the same appointment, doc said there was +1 protein in my urine. That is a very early sign of preeclampsia. NOT GOOD. So now there is a combination of slightly high blood pressure and protein. My doc suggested I do this 24 urine test. It's very tedious and annoying but it'll hopefully rule out the protein that day and hopefully it was just a fluke. I'm finishing up that whole deal today. I failed my 1 hour glucose tolerance test. I've heard that a lot of people fail it though, like 25% or something. Doc said my number wasn't crazy high, but just to rule out Gestational Diabetes, it's best to follow up with a 3 hour glucose test. Mind you, all this information is coming to me on one day, last Thursday, Joel wasn't with me either. Now she tells me that I also have a bladder infection. Great. The baby is also transverse breech, but she has plenty of time to turn over still. So I needed to get some blood drawn that day for check my liver function and if I'm anemic. Then Friday, the next day, I had to go in for the 3 hour test. I had to fast since midnight, go in at 8:30, get blood drawn, drink this awful drink, then for the next 3 hours on the hour get blood taken again. That's FOUR times. Today, after I turn in the urine thing, I get blood taken again. I look like a junkie, and my arm hurts!
All of these things are precautionary and I'm glad my doctor is doing them. I really trust her and I'm glad we're ruling out all these potential complications, even though they're tedious.
Other than those things, I still feel great for the most part. Bending over is hard to do, and tiring! I'm getting the nursery ready for Elika and dang she has a lot of clothes. Well, it seems like a lot but they're all like 0-6m size. She'll grow outta those fast. I'm really excited for the baby shower. I can't wait to see a ton of friends I haven't seen in a while.
I'm not working anymore, HOORAY! My last day was last Saturday. It's a good thing though since I have so much to do and it's just too tiring getting ready for work, then actually working!
I think writing this blog was therapy for my sleep deprivation. I'm very tired now! Maybe I just needed to hear the white noise hum of the computer. I guess. Well is 6:13 and I'm off to bed. I WILL update again soon.

6w5d and sick
So this is my first blog. I have done other online journals before, a while back, and just thought that now that I'm pregnant, it might be a good time to start again. I have been wanting to do a pregnancy journal but I know I don't want to do any actual physical writing. Typing is so much better, faster, easier, etc.
I came down with a cold last night. I think it's Joel's fault. He was sick last week with a cold. Mine is a head cold and all in my throat/lungs. I was coughing all night, so loud I was sure Joel would be awake with me. I thought wrong. He slept through every bout I had. A good 2 hours of full on coughing and not a stir from him. Actually at one point he asked if I was okay. I was crying because the coughing hurt so bad and I was so tired, as it was 3 a.m., and I said "It's getting to a point where it is hard to breathe." After my response I was waiting for my husband, my prince in shining armor, the love of my life Joel, to comfort me and somehow make fell better. Isn't that his job anyways? Well it never happened. He rolled over and was out. Turns out, he never even remembered this little conversation this morning, meaning he actually wasn't awake. He does this often, I should have known better. I wonder if I was dying and screaming for his rescue if he would hear me?
Well as the day progresses, I'm starting to feel a little perkier. Still sick, and tired. I know if I take a nap I'll have to start this whole process over again. I'm contemplating it. As for this pregnancy... today I'm 6 weeks 5 days. I have had quite a few of the symptoms that I have read about in What To Expect When Expecting and Your Pregnancy Week by Week. Oh, and all of the online articles I've come across. Here is everything I've experienced so far and recently: frequent urination (only around 4 weeks which probably also had to do with that fact that I was DYING of thirst that couldn't be quenched), runny nose, mild heartburn, sore boobs (non-stop), slight pulling in my uterus like stretching in there, forgetfullness, sore back, MOOD SWINGS (sorry honey), there are a few more I think but as I mentioned earlier in this sentence about forgetfullness, I can't remember them. I haven't had any throwing up. THANK THE GOOD LORD! I was a little sick to my stomach, kind of like I was car sick or hungover. It wasn't enough though that it took me down. I've been lucky so far. We went to Wal-mart and got a heating pad for my back. Man, 20 minutes with that on, awesome. My back didn't hurt at all last night, and would have slept all the way through if it weren't for being sick. Boo.
Oh yeah,
CRAVINGS!
I haven't really had any that were really pronounced like "OMG I HAVE to HAVE that right NOW! I have noticed some weird combinations that I didn't really realize I had until later. The other day I was hungry, but not for a meal, just snacks every once in a while. I just wanted something to nibble on. So, I wanted a hot pickle. NOTE: I love hot pickles, regular pickles, any pickles, always have since before I was pregnant and ate/eat them regularly, so this is nothing new. Anyways I had a few bites of pickle and decided I didn't really want that anymore, so I saved it for later. I wasn't really satisfied so I looked around in the fridge and freezer and found this IceCream we just got. Yup, I had some.. Passionate Mango is the flavor. The passionate part comes from Passionfruit, and obviously mango is mango. So the combination in my opinion is like Guava, which is delicious! So after a few bites of that, like 3, I didn't want it anymore. Put it back and had a few more bites of pickle. Then some cheese. I thought about it later and was like WOW, I'm there already?
We've been looking into what diapers we'll be using. I'm pretty sure we'll be doing cloth diapers. Probably a combination between different types. Also deciding if we'll do the cloth wipes too. The only downside to that is you always have to make your own solution for the wipe. I am not really interested in that. Its easy but I just dont want to. Lazy? Maybe.
Joel and I are still battling on the topic of ultrasounds. He doesn't want to give our baby brain damage, and I dont want to risk something being wrong, and not knowing about it. If it can be fixed we should know. I dont usually live in fear and what ifs but I'm nervous. This is my first baby and I want to know everything is ok. On the other side, if it is all perfect and dandy, what if I'm have twins! We should know about that right? Duh. I mean we cant even leave the hospital without 2 carseats. The debate will probably continue for a few more weeks. Ill blog about it some more probably.
I'm/We're soo HAPPY to be pregnant! I feel like I've been waiting my whole life for this and I know that this is what I'm meant to do/be. A MOMMY. I can't wait. I know I have to, but I'm so excited!
